Acquisition of a new 4D Scanner in 2025

THE 4D SCANNER IN LILLE IS OPERATIONAL

The DAR CHIFA Clinic, located in Sfax, Tunisia, is proud to announce the installation of a new radiotherapy simulation scanner: the SOMATOM GO SIM from SIEMENS.

The first technical step in radiotherapy is to perform a simulation or localization scan to position the treatment center within the target volume. This highly versatile new scanner was designed in collaboration with over 300 radiotherapy specialists, including radio-oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, and technicians.

This new scanner includes a 4D option, allowing us to study tumor mobility, particularly in the thoracic region, based on the patient’s respiratory cycle in real-time. As a result, we can treat each patient individually according to their breathing and tumor movements, leading to greater precision and reduced irradiation volume of healthy tissues.

Its design also focuses on patient comfort:

  • A soothing environment with ambient lighting.
  • Enhanced comfort with a wide 85 cm bore.
  • The integration of different simulation workflow steps is smoother and simpler, allowing professionals to spend more time with the patient.
